San Diego has a long history and association as a “Navy” town. As a way to show the Navy’s appreciation, Navy Region Southwest would like to recognize the many efforts of the citizens of San Diego who support our Sailors and their Families.

The Champion Award is meant to recognize individual citizens who champion any segment of our shore installation mission and improve the lives of our "Fleet - Fighter - Family" in the Southwest Region.

Who can be nominated?
Any non-DOD employee supporting Fleet Fighter Family during the period covered in the nomination.

What time period must be met for the nomination?
The Champion effort must have taken place between September 1, 2011 to August 31, 2012. This year, the nomination period will close August 31.

Award recipients will be announced and acknowledged at the Navy Birthday Concert on board the USS Midway Museum in October.

We sustain the fleet, enable the fighter, and support the families.

Without them we are nothing -- Without you we are less effective.
